Visits, tours and stays

   A unique experience

Although not generally open to the public, Arid Recovery offers members of the general public, schools, and community and corporate groups various options for a unique opportunity to get up close to rare and endangered native species including animals, reptiles and vegetations in a naturally wild arid zone environment. Some, such as the Burrowing Bettong, are the only populations on mainland Australia, making this chance to interact with them in a natural environment, a very special experience for visitors.

Book into a Sunset Tour led by AR volunteer tour guides, or check the options for special visits and events, or for volun-tourism opportunities for community groups and individuals.

Please contact Arid Recovery if you have any special requests or would like a visit specially tailored to suit your needs.

Corporate groups have the opportunity to book a tour, join in a special event, or to discuss a unique corporate stay offering the opportunity to encourage a greater understanding of and empathy for, the natural environment and the issues faced in the arid zone, and because it is a very grounding experience for many, it can change the way business and community leaders conduct their operations

There is a full program of options for Educational Groups to visit or stay at the Reserve providing schools and students with a raft of options for practical learning about the dynamics of the arid zone and its special population of native animals, and importantly, the threats to their survival. Arid Recovery also offer training in competency units towards a Certificate in Conservation and Land Management. See Education for more details and booking.

Corporate and Volun-tourism Stays:

Arid Recovery offers limited opportunities for corporate development and leadership group stays of up to 5 nights in duration, incorporating volunteer work assisting with special projects. This rewarding experience will challenge perceptions of life’s priorities, especially for those that spend their hours in city working environments.

Join a Sunset Tour.

Our unique arid zone discovery tours commence with a short walk to a viewing platform where you will take in a diversity of Reserve habitats bathed in the stunning glow of a spectacular outback sunset. From there your tour guide will lead you through a maze of animals tracks, many not seen in the 'outside world', exploring dunes, swales and gibber, to arrive at our nocturnal hide where on most occassions you will get up close to unique native animals, some not seen anywhere else on the Australian mainland, and on the return journey your guide will assist you to spotlight nocturnal wildlife as you pass through stark arid zone woodland.
Being a natural environment, we cannot guarantee what you will see, but we can guarantee a unique and moving experience.
