S.A. Arid Lands NRM Board

SA ARID LANDS NRM BOARD

Description:
The South Australian Arid Lands Natural Resource Management Board has provided signficant funding to Arid Recovery for a variety of projects. Arid Recovery is currently in partnership with the SAAL NRM Board supporting the dingo research project.

NATURAL HERITAGE TRUST (NHT)

Description:
The Natural Heritage Trust (NHT) was set up by the Australian Government in 1997 to help restore and conserve Australia's environment and natural resources.

NHT has, through its funding programs (EnviroFund and NRM) so far invested a significant amount of funding into Arid Recovery and have a demonstrated a strong commitment to ongoing support.

Nature Foundation SA

NATURE FOUNDATION SA

Description:
Nature Foundation raise and distribute funds to protect the natural environment, support national parks and save native wildlife.

They have provided financial support for the reintroduction and monitoring of Stick-nest Rats and Western-barred Bandicoots in the Arid Recovery Reserve.

THREATENED SPECIES NETWORK (TSN)

Description:
The Threatened Species Network (TSN) is a joint program of WWF Australia with the Australian Government’s Natural Heritage Trust.

TSN have provided funding for several Arid Recovery based conservation and research projects including Western Barred Bandicoot monitoring and a feasability study into the proposed Numbat reintroduction. 

Zoos SA

Description:
Zoos SA through the Adelaide Zoo and Monarto Zoo have assisted Arid Recovery with transfers of reintroduced species into the Arid Recovery Reserve. They have worked in partnership with Arid Recovery with a woma python reintroduction into the reserve. 

EARTHWATCH INSTITUTE

Earthwatch Institute engages people worldwide in scientific field research and education to promote the understanding and action necessary for a sustainable environment.

Unlike other environmental organizations, Earthwatch Institute puts people in the field where they can assist scientists in their field work. They are part of the action, they learn new skills, and develop a deeper understanding of their role in building a sustainable future.

Description:
WWF-Australia, formerly known as World Wildlife Fund and World Wide Fund For Nature, is part of the WWF International Network - the world's largest independent conservation organisation, at work in over 100 countries and supported by more than 5 million people.

Description:
Several teams of CVA volunteers have donated their time to Arid Recovery over the years, helping to build the fence and with other projects.

AUSTRALIAN GEOGRAPHIC SOCIETY

Description:
Australian Geographic Society members donated over $2,500 to a fundraiser set up by Australian Geographic to support the reintroduction of the Western Barred Bandicoots to the Arid Recovery Reserve in 2001.

Description:
World Environment Day, held each year on June 5, was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1972 to raise environmental awareness and to encourage action to protect the environment.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT VOLUNTEERS

Description:
International Student Volunteers is an organisation, based in the United States, which has been conducting international student programs around the world for over twenty years.

Several teams of volunteers have travelled to the Arid Recovery Reserve to volunteer their time through this organisation.

ARID AREAS CATCHMENT WATER MANAGEMENT BOARD

Description:
The Arid Areas Catchment Water Management Board (the Board) was established by the South Australian Government under section 53 of the Water Resources Act 1997, in May 2000. The primary role of the Board is to work collaboratively with the community and the government to manage water resources in the catchment in an integrated way to achieve agreed economic, environmental and social goals.
