Western Quolls are marsupial predators that once ranged right across the arid interior. They are spectacular animals and play an important role in the desert ecosystem. We are working towards introducing Quolls to the Arid Recovery Reserve to secure their return to South Australia.

In 2016 we did a trial introduction of Western Quolls into the Arid Recovery Reserve to be sure that the habitat was suitable for quolls to survive and breed. Two feisty girls (Koombana and Sepia) and two boofy boys (Jindoo and Pyra) made a home for themselves straight away and ultimately produced three gorgeous baby quolls (read more here).

Now that we know Western Quolls can thrive within the Reserve, we are working towards a full reintroduction of the species to the arid sandhill country of outback South Australia for 2018.

By adopting a Western Quoll you will help us to monitor these top order predators as they establish themselves within the Reserve.

      Your adoption includes:

      • Certificate of adoption
      • Regular updates on our progress in bringing Western Quolls to Arid Recovery
      • A small gift

All donations over $2 are tax deductible
