Sponsor a ‘Little Ozzie Digger’
( Ideal for classroom groups, small clubs, families or individuals)
It has been demonstrated that particular medium sized native mammals that once naturally occurred throughout Australia in large numbers, actively assist through their digging habits in the regeneration of vegetation playing a vital role in maintaining a healthy eco-system.
Arid Recovery has successfully reintroduced such species at the Reserve and many individual animals have been tagged with an individual number during research trapping, and this means we can offer you sponsorship of a particular ‘little digger’ in your choice of species.
You will receive a ‘Little Ozzie Digger Sponsors Kit’ and will be allocated an individually numbered animal, and to keep you informed of their progress we will send you a bi-annual report following our trapping research. Sponsorships range from $12 to $100 annually.
The Arid Recovery Adoption Register is growing daily with over 60 'little Aussie diggers' now supported by families and individuals from all over Australia. We have also had our first 'corporate' adoption with Schenker Australia Pty Ltd adopting one of each of these reintroduced threatened species.
The Burrowing Bettong
There are currently an estimated 5000 Bettongs spread throughout the Reserve in the only mainland population of these friendly little diggers. Bettongs when trapped for research are given an individually numbered ear tag and we are offering you the opportunity to sponsor your own individual Bettong for just $12 per year. Donations will go towards on-going monitoring and research on Burrowing Bettongs.

Greater Stick Nest Rat
Stick Nest Rats (SNR) live in colonies in unique above ground nests made of sticks which they gather and weave into a protective home. They are a highly threatened species native to the arid zone and these too recieve individually numbered eartags when captured to help monitor their activity at the Reserve. Your $15 donation to adopt a SNR will contribute to the work being done to restore this vital little digger to the arid zone.

The Greater Bilby
The Bilby is a selective breeder and a more solitary animal and so there are far less of these clever little diggers at the Reserve, though numbers are considered healthy and proportionate to the area. When trapped for research purposes they are given an individualy numbered ear tag before release, and bilbies are available for sponsorship for a modest contribution of $25 per year. Donations will go towards on-going monitoring and research on the Greater Bilby.

The Western Barred Bandicoot (WBB)
Arid Recovery has developed a growing population of around 200 of these shy little diggers. Previously locally extinct and seriously threatened throughout Australia, AR have tagged quite a number of them and we offer sponsorship of an individual WBB for a contribution of $100 per year. Donations will go towards monitoring and continuous development of this vital recovering population.
