Our New Giant Bilby Shines In Roxby Downs Christmas Pageant

Arid Recovery - Thursday, December 03, 2009
A team of Arid Recovery volunteers and staff joined together to launch the new giant bilby suit at the ever popular Roxby Downs Christmas Pageant, and what a hit this made with young and old.

Children queuing up along the roadside waved madly and shrieked with glee at the sight of such a magnificent giant bilby riding in the back of our old faithful ‘rhino’ 4WD utility.
Visitors to the town were impressed that all the local children knew so much about bilbies.

Staff and volunteers threw lollies into the crowd and to raise awareness about threatened species, we distributed ‘adoption’ applications encouraging members of the community to adopt a ‘Little Aussie Digger’ as gifts for friends and family.

A great time was had by all and we think AR had the most popular float.
